Georginio Wijnaldum reveals why he’s ‘not impressed’ with Rhian Brewster despite Liverpool wonderkid’s two goals in friendly

Rhian Brewster scored twice against RB Salzburg, but Liverpool teammate Georginio Wijnaldum wasn't impressed.

The Reds fought back from 2-0 down to claim a 2-2 draw with the striker coming off the bench to spare Liverpool from defeat in the friendly.

Brewster's first saw him fire into the top corner before executing an exquisite lob after good work by Curtis Jones.

The 19-year-old also got on the scoresheet as Liverpool swept Stuttgart aside in a friendly last weekend, however, Wijnaldum isn't impressed because he's not surprised by Brewster's qualities in front of goal.

"I’m not 'impressed', because I know already which kind of quality he has," Wijnaldum told the Reds' .

"We trained together for a few years and he showed also in training that his finishing is unbelievable, so I’m not really impressed!"

Brewster has been heavily linked with another loan spell away from Anfield following his successful period at Swansea in the second half of the season where he fired in 11 goals in 22 Championship appearances.

The likes of Leeds and Aston Villa have been linked with Brewster, while Sheffield United are the latest club to have entered the race to sign him on loan, according to .

Wijnaldum's future at Liverpool has also been the source of great speculation.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Barcelona following former Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman's appointment as manager.

Plus, Liverpool's pursuit of Thiago Alcantara could push Wijnaldum out the door at Anfield as it would increase the competition for a starting spot in midfield.
