West Ham set to terminate former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere’s contract this summer after two injury-hit years

West Ham are in talks with Jack Wilshere to terminate the midfielder’s contract, talkSPORT understands.
The 28-year-old has one year left on his deal at the London Stadium but now looks set for an early exit.
Wilshere joined the Hammers - his boyhood club - in 2018 on a free transfer from Arsenal as he looked to revive his career.
However, just like his time with the Gunners, he has been beset by injury problems.
Wilshere has made just 16 Premier League appearances in two years and has only played 35 minutes of football since last October.
Now both player and club believe it is time to move on and it appears an agreement for the 34-cap England international to leave is close.
Speaking on talkSPORT recently, Arsenal legend and Hammers fan Ray Parlour said Wilshere should move on for the sake of his career.
”The most important thing is he needs to play football,” said ‘The Romford Pele’.
“He is 28 years old now. His body keeps letting him down. He had so many horrific injuries when he was such a young player that it has really taken its toll on his body.
“You have to be injury-free during your career and he hasn’t had that. He’s been inured probably more months than he has played.
“I’m sure Jack would want to play. I know the sort of character he is. He loves football and it probably really hurts him that he hasnt been able to play over the last three or four years.
“I’m sure there is a solution somewhere along the line where West Ham pay a bit of his wages, someone else will pay a bit of his wages, and then he can play football.
“West Ham will be saving money because if he is not in their plans and playing, you may as well let him go and try to ave yourself two-three millions pounds a year.
“It makes sense to West Ham and it makes sense to Jack.”
