West Ham owners David Gold and David Sullivan will NOT sell the club despite growing criticism from supporters, talkSPORT told

West Ham's owners have no intention of selling the club despite growing fan discontent after their abject 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, talkSPORT has been told.

It has been a summer to forget for the east London outfit, with Hammers supporters incensed at a supposed lack of ambition and at the decision to sell starlet Grady Diangana to West Brom.

Captain Mark Noble was among those to vent his frustration on social media over Diangana's sale.

talkSPORT pundit Trevor Sinclair also aired strong views regarding the topic, calling on the owners to sell up if they aren't going to invest into the team.

There has only been one permanent addition to the squad in the shape of Tomas Soucek, and some fans protested against the owners' running of the club outside the London Stadium prior to Saturday night's clash.

There is no temptation from David Sullivan and David Gold to sell their shares at the current time though, with Jim White revealing the latest on Monday's White & Jordan show.

"Just as we came on air I got a call from one of the owners," he revealed.

"Obviously they do not like the fact they've been hung out to dry and being persecuted it seems from a minority of the West Ham fans.

"There was a protest before the game against Newcastle, game number one of the new season.

"I said to the person 'are you going to walk away?' And they said 'not at the moment... everybody has got their breaking point, but not at the moment'."

West Ham are used to making poor starts - it was their fifth opening day defeat in a row - so will hope to fire their season into life this week.
