Gareth Bale’s agent confirms Real Madrid outcast wants Tottenham return despite Manchester United interest while Sergio Reguilon also set for Spurs move

Tottenham are on the verge of agreeing a sensational double deal with Real Madrid to re-sign Gareth Bale on loan, as well as the Welshman's teammate Sergio Reguilon on a permanent basis.
Bale's representative, Jonathan Barnett, has revealed that the 31-year-old forward wants to return to the Premier League side, where he enjoyed a successful six-year spell between 2007 and 2013.
Bale, 31, left White Hart Lane for the Bernabeu for a then-world record fee of £87.5million in 2013, and has gone on to win an array of major honours, including four Champions League titles.
He has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane, however, and is now seeking a move back to the Premier League.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the forward, and talkSPORT understands Spurs' sudden interest has taken them by surprise.
Barnett, the forward's long-term agent, confirmed on Tuesday that discussions were ongoing with Tottenham regarding a potential move.
Despite United's interest, Bale favours a return to north London.
"Gareth still loves Spurs," Barnett told . "We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale's camp]. It's where he wants to be."
Speaking back in July, Barnett was adamant that his client was 'going nowhere', despite his increasingly peripheral status at Madrid.
But now Tottenham are closing in on a loan move for Bale, who earns a reported £600,000-a-week in the Spanish capital.
Real will almost certainly be footing at least half of Bale's salary, if not more, as Jose Mourinho desperately looks to add more quality to his squad.
The transfer could also involve Dele Alli moving in the opposite direction, according to the .

The latest developments will bring joy to Spurs fans far and wide, with Mourinho also on the cusp of finalising a £27.5m switch for the highly-coveted Reguilon.
Manchester United have held discussions regarding the 23-year-old Spain international - who was voted the best left-back in LaLiga last season.
But Tottenham are now in pole position to secure Reguilon's signature with talks at an advanced stage.
