Aubameyang in goal scoring form, West Ham have lost to Arsenal than ANY OTHER opponent and David Moyes has won no London derbies – it’s not looking good for the Hammers

West Ham's Premier League campaign has got off to a torrid start.

Not only did they succumb to a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle in their opener, the club has also been deafeningly quiet in the transfer market.

Tomas Soucek, who impressed on his six-month loan spell last season, has been the only arrival, signing in a 14.5million switch from Slavia Prague.

And after the club allowed promising academy talent Grady Diangana to depart for West Brom, fans are unsurprisingly reaching the end of their tether.

David Moyes' men now face a difficult trip to Arsenal this weekend - a match you can listen to live as part of talkSPORT's GameDay coverage.

But look away now, West Ham fans, as the stats ahead of the match at the Emirates make for grim reading if you come from east London.

West Ham have lost each of their last three Premier League London derbies away from home, while they are yet to win such a match with Moyes in charge (W0 D2 L3).

What's worse, the Hammers have lost more Premier League matches against Arsenal (31) than any other opponent.

If you think those numbers were bad, just have a read of Moyes' managerial record against the Gunners.

He has never won away to Arsenal as a manager in any competition, drawing four and losing 15 of his 19 visits.

Only at Chelsea (20) has he taken charge of more away games against an opponent without ever winning in his managerial career.

The Hammers will also face a man in form in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

He has scored eight goals in his last six appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, netting in each of his last four games for the Gunners. The top scoring striker, who has penned a new contract, has also been directly involved in 15 goals in his last 16 Premier League London derbies (12 goals, 3 assists).

Despite all the signs pointing to an Arsenal win, Robert Snodgrass is confident his side can surprise a few people in the tough fixtures coming up.

"The manager has challenged the players because of how well we finished last season, and why not?," the midfielder said earlier this week.

"You need to demand high standards of yourself and your team-mates.

"The manager has been here for eight or nine months and he is trying to get his ideas across and getting the lads thinking like a top-half-of-the-table team and we've definitely got the ability, but it's just about the belief.

"It's about starting the season well. We've got some tough games coming up, but the lads finished last season well and got some great results against some great sides, so why not?"
