Harry Kane sets Premier League record as partnership with Heung-min Son continues to thrive – with Gareth Bale set to bolster Tottenham attack

Harry Kane smashed a plethora of Premier League and personal records during a glittering display for Tottenham Hotspur against Southampton.
Despite going a goal behind thanks to Danny Ings’ strike, Spurs rallied to claim an emphatic 5-2 victory at St. Mary’s Stadium.
Much of the pre-match discussion centred on where new signing Gareth Bale will fit into the side upon his return, but perhaps it is more pertinent to ask how Jose Mourinho can get the Wales captain in his side.
Kane and Heung-min Son were absolutely electric on the south coast, with Son bagging four goals to leave with the match ball.
Kane became the first Englishman in Premier League history to assist four goals in a single game and the first player ever to make four assists for just one man.
Last season, the England captain managed to grab just two assists thanks to a largely injury-struck campaign, although he managed to grab a goal against the Saints as well.
It was the first time a Premier League player was involved in five Premier League goals in a game since Mohamed Salah in March 2018, the second time Kane has managed the feat since Leicester in May 2017.
Kane’s range of passing from deep and crossing from wide positions will have surely left Bale salivating back at home and eager to make his second debut for the club.
Spurs’ new No.9 only managed to play alongside Kane for a couple of minutes during his first spell, yet the thought of Bale, Kane and Son in the same front three is genuinely terrifying.
The Premier League record for assists in a single season still stands at 20, set by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. Given his performance today and the firepower around him, few could argue against Kane getting the 16 required from the remaining 36 games.
