Jack Wilshere urged to make MLS move with West Ham contract termination rumoured, as Joe Cole says ‘he would love the United States’

Jack Wilshere has been told to consider a move to Major League Soccer amid claims the midfielder may leave West Ham.
talkSPORT reported earlier this month that the Hammers are in talks to terminate the injury-prone midfielder’s contract.
And Joe Cole says joining a team in the United States would be the perfect move for Wilshere to resurrect his career.
Wilshere, whose current £100,000-a-week deal at the London Stadium runs until next summer, has started just six Premier League matches since joining West Ham on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2018.
The 28-year-old has been urged to make a move down to the Championship, with a possible return to Bournemouth – where he enjoyed a decent loan spell in the 2016/17 season – backed.
But former West Ham star Cole says a move to a warmer climate will help the midfielder stay injury free and rediscover his love for the game.
Cole spent two years in the United States with legendary North American Soccer League (NASL) club Tampa Bay Rowdies – the ex-England international’s last club before hanging up his boots.
The former winger recorded recorded 20 goals and 14 assists in 86 games in Florida, and he told Friday’s Sports Breakfast: “I really like Jack, he’s a fantastic player and I think he’s very similar to myself, in that when he came onto the scene it was all very exciting for everyone…
“I feel for Jack because he hasn’t even been able to really get there, he’s never really played regularly in his career and he’s 28 now.
“His injuries have been so much, I think he just need to play football now and enjoy himself.
“He’s got a young family and he would absolutely love the States, particularly if he goes to a place like Miami or Tampa, somewhere warm.
“It actually makes your body feel a lot better playing in those climates.
“I’m a big fan of Jack’s and I’d just love to see him playing football, that’s his natural habitat and he’s such a talented player.”
