After becoming an Arsenal player, he will fly to Turkey to link up with the Ghana squad.

Partey has been on the Gunners' radar throughout the summer transfer window but they had been reluctant to meet his £45m release clause.

Now, though, Arsenal have gone back in for Partey and are hoping to do a deal before the 11pm deadline.

Samuel Zigah, who is the 27-year-old's PR officer, sent fans into overdrive earlier on Monday by tweeting an emoji of an hourglass.

Arsenal are now willing to meet the Ghanaian's release clause in full, avoiding the need to negotiate with Atletico.

Mikel Arteta is making space in his squad as Arsenal look to bring in Partey.

Matteo Guendouzi has joined Hertha Berlin on a season-long loan after falling out with Arteta amid concerns over his attitude.

Lucas Torreira, meanwhile, could swap places with Partey as the Uruguayan is expected to join Atletico on loan.
