Chris Hughton vows to ‘enjoy pressure’ of Nottingham Forest job as he eyes promotion to Premier League

Chris Hughton insists he will ‘enjoy the pressure’ of the Nottingham Forest job.
The former Newcastle boss replaced Sabri Lamouchi in the City Ground hotseat on Tuesday after the club’s abysmal start to the season.
Forest have lost their opening four league matches and occupy the final relegation spot.
Asked about how big a job he has on his hands, Hughton told talkSPORT: “It’s a big job. There is no doubt because I know where the club have been for a number of years.
“I know how many managers have tried [to win promotion to the Premier League]. I’m aware of how big a job it is, the expectations, the size of the club, the fanbase that we have.
“All of that comes with the territory, it’s something you’ve got to, in the best way possible, enjoy that type of pressure.”
Nottingham Forest have not played Premier League football since 1999.
It has been a fall from grace for a club that won a top-flight title and two European Cups in the late 1970s.

Hughton, who has won promotion from the Championship with Newcastle and Brighton, added: “There is a history here that can’t be taken away.
“It’s the reason why this club has the feel that it does irrespective of the time.
“With that comes an expectation, comes a pressure. The club have found it very, very hard to live up to those expectations in regard to promotion for quite some time.
“But we have to continue to do the very best job we can to make that happen.”
