Transfer Insider: Troy Deeney set for Premier League return after Tottenham links, forgotten Chelsea man Victor Moses to leave, Said Benrahma to have West Ham medical

Troy Deeney could be a Premier League player again before Friday’s second transfer deadline, but not with Tottenham.
The Watford striker was linked with a shock move to Spurs earlier this summer as Jose Mourinho looked to bring in back-up for Harry Kane and a plan B in attack.
Tottenham ultimately signed Brazilian striker Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica, which appeared to end Deeney’s chances of a move back to the top-flight.
But West Brom has now emerged as a possible destination for the 32-year-old, who is reportedly keen to seal a move back to the Premier League after Watford’s relegation, but told talkSPORT earlier this summer he will not push for an exit.
The Hornets are keen to sell also and offload one of their highest paid players from the wage bill.
And talkSPORT’s transfer inside Alex Crook says a deal could be struck to bring Birmingham boy Deeney back home before Friday’s domestic transfer deadline.
“Troy Deeney is definitely on West Bromwich Albion’s shortlist,” Crook told Monday’s White and Jordan on talkSPORT.
“Their number one target is Karlan Grant, but it’s proving difficult to get him out of Huddersfield at the moment. If that doesn’t happen I would anticipate a move for Troy Deeney.
“It would be the perfect move for him because he’s a local lad, he’s a Walsall boy, and I think Watford have decided he’s not part of their immediate plans.
“He wants to play in the Premier League and because they were relegated Watford need to reduce their wage bill, so I think they would certainly be open to sending him to West Brom should they back up their interest.”
Forgotten Chelsea star set for exit... again
Another player set to be on the move again before Friday’s 5pm deadline is Victor Moses, who you’d be forgiven for forgetting is still at Chelsea.
The 29-year-old Nigerian winger last appeared for the Blues in the 2018/19 season and he's entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
And, after loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke, West Ham, Fenerbahce and Inter Milan, he is expected to seal another move away from Stamford Bridge, with Russia his next destination.
“I almost forgot he was a Chelsea player to be perfectly honest, but Victor Moses is set to leave the club on loan again,” added Crook.
“Moses was out on loan to Inter Milan last season; he nearly went back there on deadline day but they couldn’t quite get that deal done.
“But he can still move to a club in Russia because their window is still open, and it looks like he’s off to Spartak Moscow on loan for the rest of the season.”
Benrahma set for West Ham move in stunning big-money deal
Crook also brought us an update on West Ham’s move for Brentford forward Said Benrahma, who he says is due at the Premier League club for a medical this week ahead of a big-money move that could rise to £30m.
“It does look like Brentford are going to lose another of their crown jewels in the form of Said Benrahma,” added the transfer guru.
“It’s my understanding that West Ham have agreed a fee of £18million rising to a possible £30m with various add-ons.
“He’s away on international duty with Algeria at this moment in time but will undergo a medical at the London Stadium when he returns to the UK on Wednesday.
“It’s a massive profit for Brentford who only paid £2.7m for him in 2018 from Nice, but another blow for the supporters at Griffin Park having already lost Ollie Watkins to Aston Villa.
“I think there will be a central defender coming in too, and I think that man will be Craig Dawson from Watford.
“They were looking at Dawson on deadline day after a deal for Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori fell through, and I think he might even be signed before Benrahma.”
