‘You never know’ – Kyle Walker hints at future Sheffield United transfer after scoring stunning Man City winner against boyhood club

Kyle Walker has hinted he could make a stunning return to Sheffield United, after scoring a brilliant bittersweet winner against his boyhood side for Manchester City.
The England right-back scored an incredible volley to continue his purple patch for Pep Guardiola’s team, as City ground out a 1-0 victory at Bramall Lane over a stubborn Blades team who are yet to win a Premier League game this season.
It was the perfect way to mark his 100th City appearance, but Walker refused to celebrate against the club where he started his career.
His mark of respect made his continued love for hometown side Sheffield United perfectly clear, with his family still based in the city and firm Blades supporters.
But he took it a step further during a post-match interview by dropping a huge hint that he wants to end his career with his boyhood club.
Explaining his decision not to celebrate his goal, Walker told BT Sport: “My mum and dad live here, so if I'd celebrated they probably would have got a lot of stick.
“I'm a Sheffield United fan, so I couldn't.
“My first game for Aston Villa was here and I scored with my left peg. I seem to like this ground… hopefully, we never know in the future...
“It’s always tough [to score against the Blades], I’ve done it twice now,” he added to talkSPORT.
“It’s always going to be a tough feeling but I’m happy to get the three points for Manchester City.”
Guardiola was also full of praise for Walker, who has started the season in terrific form.
“The goal helped us a lot but not just for the goal, for the fact that his concentration, he understands better every day what we have to do,” the Spaniard said of the Englishman, who he described as one of the club’s ‘leaders’.
“His physicality, there are no words to explain it.
“I know maybe he is not so happy to score against a club he loves a lot, but for us, it was so important.”
