Liverpool told there ‘will be no discount’ on Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as Reds look for Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez replacement

Liverpool will get no discount on Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in January as Jurgen Klopp faces a dilemma in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Reds need defensive reinforcements following the serious injuries to centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Van Dijk was injured in the Merseyside derby while Gomez went down during England training last week - both required surgery and are expected to miss a significant portion of the season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up a muscle problem just before the international break while Andy Robertson missed Scotland’s clash with Slovakia on Sunday due to a tight hamstring.
This has left Joel Matip the only fit senior centre-back while stand-in Fabinho is also nursing his own injury problems.
Klopp may be forced into the transfer market in January if he harbours any hope of retaining the Premier League title.
Napoli’s Koulibaly has been touted as a possible target but Italian publication claims that there would be no discount on offer.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to be unwavering in his £63million valuation having rebuffed bids from Man City and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Liverpool could even decide not to bring in anyone at all, as claim, with their recruitment focused on the summer instead.
It is said to have been a joint decision by Klopp and the club’s hierarchy.
