An Arsenal fan stunningly claimed on talkSPORT he wants Mikel Arteta sacked… and Arsene Wenger BACK!

Frank the Gooner joined Adrian Durham and Darren Gough on Tuesday's Drive to make his incredible call, telling Arteta to 'get out of here… and take Nicolas Pepe with you!'

It's been a mixed season for the Gunners, who ended last term on a high with success in the FA Cup and even enjoyed a positive summer transfer window as the likes of Willian, Gabriel and Thomas Partey all signed.

But four wins and four defeats, plus one draw, from their nine Premier League matches in 2020/21 leave the north Londoners in the bottom half of the table - behind even Manchester United who have been criticised all season for their poor performances.

Arsenal's poor campaign is emphasised by Tottenham's brilliant season so far.

In fact, just one day after Spurs moved top of the Premier League with a stunning 2-0 defeat of Manchester City, Arsenal fought to a 0-0 draw with newly-promoted Leeds, being outplayed by Marcelo Bielsa's side and also seeing Nicolas Pepe sent off for a headbutt.

The stalemate extended Arsenal's run of failing to score from open play to over seven hours, while any sort of goal has been hard to come by this season with the Gunners netting just nine in their nine Premier League matches - their worst return in 34 years!

And Frank the Gooner has lost his patience with Arteta and wants him gone - now!

“Arteta out,” began Frank as he joined Durham and Goughie. “He ain’t got a scooby what he’s doing with that team.

“How long has he been there; year, year-and-a-half? He doesn’t know his best team!

“Get out of here! And take Pepe with you, he’s garbage!”

Durham was stunned by what he was hearing, although he did open the floor for Frank to name his ideal replacement for Arteta – and that’s when the truly crazy claim started.

“Wenger! I want him back," continued Frank.

“Since Arteta has come into this club… yes, we’ve won a trophy; whoop-de-doo, we won the FA Cup, whatever.

“We’ve not progressed as a team, we are not a Champions League team anymore. Arsene Wenger got us top four every season without fail, and we had good players in that team.

“And now look at the team; we see people like Pepe, Maitland-Niles, Mustafi… you know what I mean, it’s garbage!

“Mesut Ozil’s on 350 grand-a-week in a pandemic!”
