Transfer news: Watford keen on Lille full-back Djibril Sidibe but face fight with Monaco

Monaco have joined Watford in the race to land Lille right-back Djibril Sidibe.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the best defenders in French football after making 37 Ligue 1 outings last term.

The form has attracted the attention of Watford and Lyon but now L'Equipe have reported that Monaco are hot on his heels.

The Principality club are said to be lining up an offer for Sidibe, who is rated at around £12m by Lille.
