Mikel Arteta must be sacked right NOW - or he risks RELEGATING Arsenal from the Premier League!

This is the view of one Gooner, who joined talkSPORT's Sports Bar to admit his fears for Arsenal ahead of Sunday's north London derby.

The Gunners head into the derby at White Hart Lane in a lowly 14th place, having won only four of their ten league matches so far.

It's their worst ever start to a Premier League season, and Arsenal's misfortunes come under increased scrutiny given their north London rivals are flying high under Jose Mourinho right now.

Tottenham lead the table heading into this gameweek, level on points with reigning champions Liverpool and undefeated since their opening match.

Spurs are being heavily backed to continue their fine start to the campaign by beating the Gunners - a result that could potentially see Arteta's side end the weekend in 16th, only four points clear of the relegation zone.

And Simon the Gooner admitted on talkSPORT he is stunned Arteta has not resigned in the build-up to the north London derby.

He believes the Spaniard - a former Arsenal player and Pep Guardiola's ex-assistant coach at Man City - is taking the Gunners backwards with relegation a real possibility should he remain in charge.

And there is only one solution: 'He has got to go, now!'

Simon the Gooner's Sports Bar rant began: “I’ve never called for a manager’s head at Arsenal in 35 years, going back to Don Howe, Terry Neill, George Graham, Bruce Rioch – none of them.

“But Arteta is out of his depth - I can’t believe he hasn’t resigned this week. He’s taken us from a top five or six team to a relegation team.

“And any Arsenal fan who talks about us winning anything this season is absolutely deluded. I will be happy if we stay in this division!

“He has made more mistakes in 11 months than Wenger did in 22 years! He’s made catastrophic errors.

“We’ve had two good performances in his whole tenure, and I don’t know why no one else has seen that; we beat Man City in the [FA Cup] semi-final – brilliant performance – and we beat Chelsea in the final – brilliant performance.

“Every other performance has been nothing, absolute rubbish.

“And he is in danger of getting us relegated if he stays.

"He has got to go, now!”
