It may be just the second day of the New Year, but Nadiem Amiri may have already scored the best goal of 2021.

The Bayer Levekusen star produced a fine piece of skill before cheekily back-heeling the ball into the net during their Bundesliga clash at Eintracht Frankfurt.

It didn't look like much was on when Amiri collected a Florian Wirtz pass

Amiri brilliantly back-heeled a chipped pass through Erik Durm's legs before exquisitely back-heeling through the onrushing Kevin Trapp's legs to give the visitors a ninth-minute lead.

Frankfurt didn't let this early setback get them down though as they fought back to claim a 2-1 win.

However, take nothing away from Amiri, whose goal has already made him a contender to win the 2021 Puskas Award.

Below you can see Amiri's goal in all its glory...

The goal has already earned comparisons with Dennis Bergkamp's mesmerising strike in March 2002.

As he collected a bouncy pass from Robert Pires, Bergkamp brilliantly flicked the ball past Nikos Dabizas before sliding the ball beyond Shay Given in the Newcastle goal.

Bergkamp's goal is remembered as one of the iconic Premier League strikes and there are some similarities to what Amiri produced on Saturday.
