Newcastle have become one of the richest clubs in world football after a Saudi-led takeover was completed. 

Mike Ashley has sold the club to a consortium of Amanda Staveley's PCP Captial Partners, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Ruben Brothers for £305million.

PIF has an estimated wealth of more than £300billion and the new owners have promised to invest in a long-term project.

Toon fans were partying in their hundreds outside St James' Park after the news they've wanted for more than a decade was confirmed.
