The summer transfer window officially opens on 1 July 2016, and with the Premier League's new TV deal bringing even more riches to the English top flight, there is no doubt huge sums will be spent in the coming months.

But which clubs have spent the most in recent times?

We've looked back at the net spend for each of the 20 clubs competing in the 2016/17 Premier League season, going back five years.
