Erling Haaland became the quickest player to reach 20 Champions League goals in the history of the competition with his double that sent Sevilla crashing out of the competition.

The Borussia Dortmund striker needed just 14 games to reach the landmark, surpassing the previous record held by Tottenham Hotspur and England man Harry Kane, who managed it in 24 games.

Haaland barely had a sniff in the first half at the Signal Iduna Park, yet managed to open the scoring when Marco Reus pulled the ball back to find the former Molde man.

Although he had a seemingly fine goal ruled off for a foul thanks to VAR, the 20-year-old then scored from the penalty spot (much to the annoyance of the Sevilla players).

The Spanish side managed to rally and Youssef En-Nesyri hit a double himself, but it proved to be in vain as Dortmund held on for a 5-4 aggregate scoreline.

Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara was on commentary duty for talkSPORT 2 on the night and had nothing but praise for the lethal front man.

"He's going to be the best player in the next four or five years, he's just on another planet,” O’Hara said.

“He can do miracles on his own, definitely not a player you want to be playing against in the latter stages of the Champions League.”

Haaland is one of only two players to have scored 30 or more goals across all competitions in the top five European leagues, joining Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

He has now scored more goals in the Champions League than the likes of Francesco Totti, Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Adriano and Carlos Tevez.
