Man United confirm Carrick facing up to six weeks out

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick will be out of action for up to six weeks with an Achilles injury, the club has confirmed.
The 32-year-old played in United's 1-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday but withdrew from the England squad preparing for the friendlies against Chile and Germany on Tuesday after feeling discomfort.
Carrick has long suffered with Achilles trouble and has now undergone a procedure which could keep him out until Christmas.
"We can confirm that Michael Carrick will be out for four to six weeks with an Achilles injury," United said on their official Twitter account.
Carrick, meanwhile, is edging closer to signing a new contract with United, with the 32-year-old in line for a two-year extension.
