Sheffield United forward Rhian Brewster becomes latest player to share ‘disgusting’ online racial abuse

Rhian Brewster has become the latest Premier League footballer to suffer vile online racial abuse.
The Sheffield United forward shared the nasty message on his Instagram story alongside the captain ‘I bet you this kid is about 12.”
The racist message read: “Overrated n***** you’re s*** p** boy.”
talkSPORT understands this is not the first time Brewster has been subjected to racial abuse on Instagram.
The 20-year-old is one of several players to have been racially abused on social media in recent months, including Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Axel Tuanzebe, Antonio Rudiger, Reece James and Eddie Nketiah.
Sheffield United condemned the 'disgusting' abuse on Twitter.
“As a club we applaud Rhian for bringing the disgusting message sent to him to light," a club statement read.
“We will now support him and work with him, the Premier League and all the relevant authorities to ensure the person behind this post is brought to justice.”
The Premier League also backed Brewster and the club's stance.
It tweeted: “The #pl stands alongside @SheffieldUnited and Rhian Brewster in opposing this abuse and discrimination.
“There is noroomforracism in football, or anywhere.”
Instagram has been contacted for a response. The social media platform's owner Facebook announced last month it would impose stricter penalties on perpetrators of abuse, including removing accounts.
