Silence is said to be ‘wisdom’s best reply’, but Harry Kane’s continued silence over his future at Tottenham ‘speaks volumes’ talkSPORT has been told.

Spurs suffered one of their darkest nights in recent memory this week as they crashed out of the Europa League to Dinamo Zagreb, and this latest cup disappointment has also put the striker’s immediate future at the club in further doubt.

It was a humiliating exit for the Premier League side, who held a 2-0 advantage in their round of 16 tie but completely blew it as they crumbled in a 3-0 away defeat - losing 3-2 on aggregate.

For many supporters, it will be the final straw in their patience with Jose Mourinho - marvelbet369.com have even been told some fans are feeling ‘more detached from their club than they have done in many years’, and have ‘been left disillusioned by a manager many didn’t want’.

Could the same be said of Kane?

The England captain’s future at Tottenham has often been linked with the club’s chances of winning top titles, with recent suggestions the 27-year-old could look to leave Spurs soon to pursue his personal ambitions for major silverware.

Manchester United and Man City have both been linked with an interest, while talk of a move to either of Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona is never far away.

And Kane’s silence over his future has only added to the speculation, says talkSPORT’s Tony Cascarino, who has questioned the striker’s lack of comment with the rumour mill in a spin.

“Kane’s silence does speak volumes,” claimed the Weekend Sports Breakfast host.

“He’s such a powerful figure. You’re talking about a guy who was top scorer in a World Cup and a hero at his club who is going to break all sorts of goalscoring records.

“He might even get close to being the greatest England goalscorer of all time as well.

“So it’s very, very weird for him with all this going on around him to not even mention… just not doing any interview at all.”

It has been widely suggested Kane’s future at his boyhood club hinges on his chances of winning trophies.

He will have to wait for another chance for a European title after Spurs’ humiliating Europa League exit, but there is still hope of lifting the Carabao Cup in next month’s final against Manchester City, where Tottenham will look to end their 13-year wait for silverware.

Danny Murphy says it's now or never for Harry Kane to get his move away from Spurs as bigger clubs will be more attracted to Haaland, Mbappe and Co.

And while there'll be plenty of doubt given their recent performances, Cascarino insists Mourinho’s men still have every chance of making this season one to remember for fans… despite their groans over the manager’s style of play.

“Tottenham need to go on a run and prove to everybody, but most of all their fans, that they’re capable of being a top-four team this season, because it’s still there, it hasn’t gone yet,” he added.

“They’ve got to be brave, if they’re going shoulder-to-shoulder with some very good teams in the Premier League you’ve got to be prepared to have a go at them.

“You’re a big football club, you’ve got a stadium that’s state of the art, it’s one of, if not THE best stadium in the world, and you’ve got a centre-forward everybody would want.

“I think Tottenham have to recognise there’s a golden opportunity still there, because it just doesn't feel like that at the moment.

“There are concerns about the style, but there’s a lot to play for with ten games to go.

“This can all change very, very quickly - if they win the Carabao Cup and make the top-four you can say that is big progress, they would have actually won something!”
