Arsenal flop Shkodran Mustafi suffers yet more humiliation on loan at Schalke after being dropped for ‘sporting reasons’

Skhodran Mustafi’s nightmare at Schalke continues to get worse after being dropped completely for ‘sporting reasons’.
The Arsenal flop returned to Germany on a loan deal in January after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta last season.
Yet his problems have continued to mount in the Bundesliga, with the Germany international being omitted from the squad to face Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday entirely.
In rather ominous circumstances, the Tweet sent out confirming the squad for the fixture revealed the 28-year-old was not involved for ‘sporting reasons’.
Mustafi is on a temporary deal until the end of the season, having made just six appearances for the club and never once being on the winning side.
In that period, the Gelsenkirchen outfit have shipped 16 goals which also saw Christian Gross sacked.
Dimitrios Grammozis has replaced him, making Schalke the first side in German history to employ five different managers in one season.
They sit bottom of the Bundesliga and look doomed for relegation after winning just once all year. Schalke have just 10 points in one of the worst campaigns from any top-tier side in history.
Even without the out-of-form Mustafi, Schalke still slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Leverkusen.
