Fenerbahce join race for in-demand Hatem Ben Arfa

Fenerbahce are ready to break the bank for former Newcastle United flop Hatem Ben Arfa.

The playmaker had his contract at St. James' Park terminated in January 2015, but he is back to his best at Nice.

The Frenchman bagged 18 goals for the Ligue 1 side last season and is now being linked with the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, according to L'Equipe, Fenerbahce have joined the race for Ben Arfa by offering him a lucrative contract.

The 29-year-old will be a free agent this summer after refusing to sign a new deal with Nice.

Clubs are now preparing contract offers and, while Ben Arfa is expected to have proposals from Europe's elite, Fenerbahce believe he can be lured to Turkey by a mega pay-packet.
