Chelsea fans might ‘lose patience’ with Thomas Tuchel’s style but it’s ‘too early to complain’ after incredible start

Former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot believes the club's supporters might lose patience with Thomas Tuchel's style of play, but insists it's too early to complain.
Since the German manager replaced Frank Lampard in January, the Blues have fought their way back into the top-four race, as well as reaching both the Champions League and FA Cup semi-finals.
It's been a fine start by all accounts, although Chelsea have only managed to score more than two goals in a game once during Tuchel's 18-match reign, when they beat Crystal Palace 4-1 last weekend.
They certainly didn't turn on the style during the 1-0 defeat to Porto on Tuesday night, but still secured a 2-1 aggregate victory, and Saturday's Wembley showdown with Man City presents a fascinating test of Tuchel's possession-based tactics - live on talkSPORT.
Chelsea fans are well-accustomed to the substance-over-style approach, having achieved great success with Jose Mourinho and other pragmatic managers, but Melchiot insists the fans will want to be entertained eventually.
The former right-back told talkSPORT on the Weekend Sports Breakfast: "People don't want to see you just move the ball from left to right, waiting for something to happen. They want you to make something happen.
"That is the only difference that they have to get used to, because that is the way he's playing. He's trying to get you out of position and then capitalise.
"If it doesn't happen, then it takes a little bit more time, and I don't know if people will have the patience for him.
"But hey, he just started, and the way he's done it so far, he's done extremely well. People have to give him the time because this is too early to complain."
