Sheffield Wednesday sack Jones

Dave Jones has been sacked by Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls suffered a 2-0 defeat to Blackpool on Saturday and are currently joint-bottom of the Championship table.

A statment on the club's website said: "Dave Jones has been relieved of his duties as first team manager with immediate effect.

The club would like to thank Dave for all of his hard work and wish him well for the future."
