Rules are rules, Leonardo Bonucci.

Like that steward who checked Cristiano Ronaldo's ID at the Puskas Arena before Portugal's opener against Hungary, this one at Wembley doesn't care how famous you are.

Having overcome his Euro 2016 penalty demons by netting in the shootout victory over Spain, helping Italy book their place in the Euro 2020 final, Bonucci went over to celebrate with his nation's fans.

However, on his way back to the pitch, a steward grabs him and tries to stop the defender from passing, presumably mistaking Bonucci with a pitch invader.

The Juventus star, 34, looks at her in bewilderment before a brief but hilarious moment of confusion is followed by a sudden realisation: 'Oh, you're Bonucci'.

Unlike Ronaldo, who looked rather peeved at the sheer possibility someone on planet Earth doesn't know who he is, Bonucci took it well.

The centre-back was seen laughing and hugging the steward, who eventually allowed him to rejoin his teammates.

Bonucci wasn't the only Italian veteran embracing everybody last night, as 36-year-old partner Giorgio Chiellini bear-hugged Spain captain Jordi Alba before the penalty shootout.

Let's hope for a less eventful, more boring semi-final tonight as England take on Denmark to try and set up a Wembley date with the Italians on Sunday.
