Portugal will aim to get up and running with a victory over Austria on Saturday evening as the two Group F rivals go head-to-head in Paris.

Cristiano Ronaldo [poised to overtake Luis Figo and make a record-breaking 128th cap for Portugal] and co. disappointed in their first game against tournament minnows Iceland, where a first-half strike from former Manchester United winger Nani proved not enough to claim a winning start.

FC Basel midfielder Birkir Bjarnason netted shortly after the re-start - scoring Iceland’s first ever goal at a major tournament - to seal a brilliant draw for the Nords.

Portugal will surely want to make amends and they have a great chance to against Austria who, despite being ranked in the world's top ten, were beaten 2-0 by Hungary in their first game.

But with recently-crowned Premier League champion Christian Fuchs wearing the captain’s armband, maybe they can ‘do a Leicester’ and provide the first big shock of the tournament.

Portugal coach Fernando Santos knows his side are in for a tough game: "Austria are a very strong team - It's not for nothing that they're in the top ten in the FIFA rankings.

"Over the last four or five years they have developed and the personnel has mainly stayed the same. They're strong in attack and have many players with great qualities and technical ability. They are very different to Iceland.

"David Alaba, [Marko] Arnautovic, [Marc] Janko, [Martin] Harnik ... They are all top-quality players. [Zlatko] Junuzovic too. Austria are a team full of quality players who want the ball and know how to play."

Meanwhile, Austria captain Christian Fuchs [above] is confident they can pull off a shock: "At Leicester, we proved you can win against the big teams and get under their skin.

“Let me remind you that we won 3-1 at Manchester City, so anything is possible and I'll be the last to stop believing that. It's a nice challenge, because there are world-class players awaiting us on Saturday.

"We will quite clearly be the underdog and the pressure will be more on Portugal, because they weren't at their best against Iceland either. I definitely wouldn't put it past us to get three points now against Portugal. Why shouldn't we?

"We have the quality to do so and I really believe in this team to achieve something."
