‘I don’t understand how Arsenal are being run’ – Trevor Sinclair perplexed by £30million bid for Sheffield United star Aaron Ramsdale

Trevor Sinclair is perplexed by Arsenal’s decision to bid £30million for Aaron Ramsdale after letting Emiliano Martinez leave for £20m last summer.
The Argentina goalkeeper enjoyed a terrific debut season for Aston Villa in the previous campaign, before helping Lionel Messi lift the Copa America this summer.
Conversely, Bernd Leno kept four fewer clean sheets in the Premier League and looked decidedly shaky without world class competition at the Emirates.
Manager Mikel Arteta clearly wants to address the issues between the sticks, reportedly submitting a mammoth move for Sheffield United shot-stopper Ramsdale.
“Listen, I don’t get it,” Sinclair told White and Jordan about the decision to let Martinez leave. “We’ve said before, Emi Martinez going to Villa – why?
DREAM TEAM IS BACK!
“He was playing superbly well for Arsenal. They’ve allowed their best ‘keeper to leave and now they are chasing their tail trying to get someone in to give competition for Leno.
“I just don’t understand how Arsenal is being run as a football club. For me, that Emi Martinez one should have never gone through. I know he wanted to play, but let those two goalkeepers play it out for the No.1 jersey and keep it honest.
“They’ve not done it and they’ve let him go and he has been superb at Villa.
“I think for Aaron Ramsdale, that will be a great move for him. It’s a huge club Arsenal and it is quite a big fee.”
The 23-year-old went down to the Championship with the Blades following his move from Bournemouth, but earned a place in England’s squad for Euro 2020.
It is understood any offers for Leno, 29, which match the £22.5m Arsenal paid Bayer Leverkusen in 2018 would be accepted, with Ramsdale the no.1 target ahead of Sam Johnstone from West Brom.
