Mauricio Pochettino signs new Paris Saint-Germain contract after sensational Tottenham return talks

Mauricio Pochettino has put pen-to-paper on a one-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 49-year-old emerged as a strong contender for Tottenham job but talks over a sensational return stalled with ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo eventually appointed Jose Mourinho's successor.
On the news, Pochettino said: “I’m really very happy, for myself and also for my staff.
“It’s very important for us to feel the confidence of the club and we will give our maximum so that the supporters are proud of Paris Saint-Germain.
“That’s why we will try and reach our objectives all together, as one.
"Twenty years ago I was captain of this club and today I am the coach… It’s a dream come true.”
Pochettino guided the French giants to two trophies in his first six months in charge, but speculation over his future was rife after they missed out on the Ligue 1 title.
Pochettino's initial deal was due to expire next summer, but the Argentine and his coaching staff have committed for another 12 months.
