Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals Alex Telles injury which could impact Brandon Williams loan move with Luke Shaw also a fitness doubt

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Alex Telles has suffered an ankle injury which will rule him out ‘for a little while’.
The left-back featured in Manchester United’s 2-1 pre-season win over Derby last weekend, but was nowhere to be seen for their 4-2 defeat to QPR on Saturday.
Explaining Telles’ absence, Red Devils boss Solskjaer said: “Unfortunately, Alex slipped and he twisted his ankle so he’ll be out for a few weeks.
“We’re hoping that it’s not going to be too bad but he’ll be out for a little while.”
Telles’ injury has left Solskjaer short of left-back options with the new Premier League season less than three weeks away.
Luke Shaw is currently away on holiday following his Euro 2020 exploits and is also recovering from broken ribs.
It leaves Brandon Williams as United’s only fit left-back at the moment.
The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a loan move amid interest from Norwich, Newcastle and Southampton.
talkSPORT’s Alex Crook revealed Williams, who made just four Premier League appearances last season, was set to join Southampton on loan, before United’s financial demands saw the move break down.
He said: “Brandon Williams was set to join Southampton on loan.
“I’m now being told that deal could be off due to United’s financial demands both in terms of his wages and the fact they want a very substantial loan fee from Southampton.
“The way it was put to me this morning was that if Southampton agreed to United’s demands, Williams would effectively become their highest paid player.
“They’re not willing to entertain that at the moment.”
