Harry Kane will be hit with a 'significant fine' for not reporting to Tottenham's training ground on Monday, talkSPORT understands.

The England ace, 28, was due to join up with his teammates after his short break following the end of Euro 2020, where England were beaten by Italy in the final.

Manchester City are prepared to pay in excess of £100million for the England forward, who has three years remaining on his current contract.

On the latest developments, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook told Drive: “This has all the signs of a very messy divorce.

"We heard earlier today that Harry Kane had not returned to the Tottenham training ground, as expected.

“He wasn't due to train, but he was due to report and undergo a COVID-19 test and various blood tests, he didn't show up and Tottenham are refusing to comment on that situation.

“Now we understand Harry Kane will be hit with a significant fine for his actions and that fine could increase the longer he stays away from training."

Crook says that Kane has basically 'gone on strike' to push through a move to the Etihad, but those attempts have only made chairman Daniel Levy even more determined to hold on to his star asset.

He continued: “Effectively Harry Kane has gone on strike to try and force a move out of north London after Daniel Levy, in the eyes of the Kane camp, went against a gentleman's agreement that was struck last summer that he would be allowed to leave if Tottenham didn't win a trophy.

“Kane believes he should be allowed to leave and Manchester City are very keen to sign him and willing to pay in excess of £100m.

“What I have been told is Harry Kane by going AWOL and refusing to training has only made Daniel Levy more determined he will not be forced into a sell."
