Paris Saint-Germain aren’t a ‘proper club’ like Liverpool or Manchester United, says Simon Jordan who doubts Lionel Messi will win Champions League with French side

Paris Saint-Germain are not a ‘proper football club’ and they won't win the Champions League title even with Lionel Messi in their team.
That's according to former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan, who says the French club are not on the same level and Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United, and a ruining football with their riches.
Messi recently completed his shock move to the Ligue 1 side after ending his legendary 21 year career at Barcelona.
PSG now have a star-studded squad that boss Mauricio Pochettino simply has to guide to success this season, under immense external pressure from scrutinising fans and pundits across Europe.
And Jordan insists that, unlike Liverpool and Man United, PSG are not a ‘proper’ club.
And he says the French side's wild spending since their Qatari takeover is not good for the game.
“I don't think PSG, irrespective of how wonderful they are at circumnavigating financial fair play and what their football project looks like, they are not a proper football club,” said the White and Jordan host on talkSPORT.
“A proper football club is the Manchester United and Liverpool's of the world and Manchester City are beginning to become one...
"But PSG for me are a canker sore on the side of football.”
During his time at Barcelona, Messi cemented himself as one of the best footballers of all time.
He scored 474 goals in 520 games in LaLiga, winning ten league titles, seven Copa del Reys, and four Champions Leagues.
The 34-year-old also won a record six Ballon d’Or’s during his time in Spain.
Jordan believes that Messi can begin to replicate those numbers when he plays alongside former 'MSN' Barcelona teammate Neymar and World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe next season.
But he states that this is because the quality of football in the French top-flight isn’t the same as LaLiga or the Premier League.
The outspoken talkSPORT pundit added: “Is it a bona fide, nailed on, legitimate football transaction?
"In part, it is because Lionel Messi, in our mind’s eye, is still this 26-year-old star.
“But let's see. I think he will translate into French football because the French league, in comparison to the Premier League, is crap and I don't care who that offends.
"It's not in the same postal code of quality.
“So, by going to the French league, he will still probably perform, but will he win the Champions League? I bet you he won't.”
