The Cherries are signing the defender who has a wealth of experience having won the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League twice, while also boasting Champions League and League Cup winners' medals.

Cahill, 35, joins the south coast club on a free transfer having left Crystal Palace earlier this summer.

The centre-back, who will pen a one-year deal, has also represented Aston Villa and Bolton in the Premier League. He has 61 England caps to his name.

Bournemouth, who are eyeing promotion back to the Premier League, are also set to sign Manchester City starlet Morgan Rogers on loan.

The reports the loan deal would include an obligation to sign him permanently for £9million.

Rogers, 19, moved to City from West Brom for around £8m in 2019.

The move for the England Under-18 international comes after Bournemouth sold Arnaut Danjuma to Villarreal for £21.3m.
