Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo insists that his players have ‘total belief’ in him, despite three crushing defeats on the bounce.

Spurs lost back-to-back games 3-0 against Crystal Palace and Chelsea, before a devastating 3-1 loss to arch-rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

They now face Slovenian side AS Mura in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, with Nuno hoping to record his first win since the end of August.

And he claims that there is ‘no doubts’ from his players, despite many of them putting in disastrous performances at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend.

“Yeah, totally believe,” Nuno said in his pre-match press conference, when asked if his players have faith in his philosophy.

“There’s no doubts about that because we work together every day, we prepare together and these moments we need to stick together and the belief is the first step to do things and we have it.

“You have to realise sometimes it’s not possible. Sometimes opponents is better than you and you have to be humble to give credit and sometimes you don’t perform.

"Sometimes the plan is no good. The belief in all of us is here.”

There has been plenty of criticism aimed at Nuno over the last few weeks - despite the Portuguese being named Premier League Manager of the Month for August.

The bookmakers have slashed odds on the former Wolves manager being the first top-flight boss to be sacked this season, after their run of poor results.

However, Nuno doesn’t seem to be feeling the pressure and just wants to focus on how he can improve things on the pitch - starting with their European clash on Thursday evening.

He said: “I’m not worried about the judgements. What I’m worried about is how we can play better. How can we play better?

“The judgement, and the criticism, and the opinion and all of that is all part of it. And we have to deal with that, we have to deal with that.

“That doesn’t interfere with the way we work, it can only distract us. I’m very simple, telling you: my focus is how can we improve, how can we improve.

“In terms of the fans, now is not the moment to ask them. Of course we need their support because the players and the team need the support of the fans.

“But it's not the moment to ask them, it’s the moment to deliver. Now we have to give them, so they feel again good with the team.

“They see a team that is solid and is playing good, and things go back to normal.”
