Spanish legend to snub Man United for Barcelona stay

Manchester United target Andres Iniesta is on the verge of signing a new deal to commit his future to Barcelona.

Manchester United target Andres Iniesta is on the verge of signing a new deal to commit his future to Barcelona.

The midfielder's current deal runs until the summer of 2015 but there had been speculation he would be sold next summer if he could not agree a new contract at the Nou Camp.

That had reportedly alerted United, who are keen to beef up their midfield options under new manager David Moyes.

But Marca say a new deal has all but been agreed, and the Spanish international will sign a new contract that will keep him in Barcelona until 2018.

He will be 34 by that point, and it would almost certainly ensure Iniesta will see out his career at Barcelona, ending United's hopes.
