Manchester United have told agents offering to help replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that they have no intention of sacking him.

Solskjaer is trophyless since he was named United boss in December 2018, and the side look like they may struggle again this season despite huge summer investment.

Returning hero Cristiano Ronaldo has twice saved the Red Devils in the Champions League with late winners, but his displays have failed to distract from below par team performances.

Nonetheless, United continue to back the Norwegian, and have told opportunist agents their services to secure a replacement won’t be required.

a number of leading agents have offered bosses at Old Trafford to help find Solskjaer’s potential successor, but the club have turned them away.

Two huge managerial names are currently unemployed in the shape of Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane, yet United continue to refrain from talking to new candidates.

The report also claims that a number of Solskjaer’s players have lost faith in the manager, taking matters into their own hands after going 2-0 down to Atalanta midweek.

Ronaldo allegedly took over the half-time team talk to scold his teammates, while midfielder Bruno Fernandes told Solskjaer he needed to change his tactics.

United eventually fought back to win 3-2 and take a huge three points in their quest for the knockout stages.

One of Solskjaer’s former United teammates, Paul Scholes, was extremely critical of the performance post-match, saying that if the team plays the same way against Liverpool or Manchester City ‘they will get destroyed’.

United have a tough run of games coming up featuring Liverpool, Tottenham, Man City and Chelsea in their next five league games.

Ronaldo, though, said he and his new teammates need time to adapt to each other, but that time may be running short with a scary set of pre-Christmas fixtures on the way.
