Video: Wonderful solo goal from Celtic ace – take a bow, son

St Johnstone 0-1 Celtic

Virgil van Dijk scored a contender for the Scottish Premiership's goal of the season as Celtic beat St Johnstone 1-0 on Boxing Day.

It was an "unbelievable piece of individual brilliance," according to manager Neil Lennon, whose side sit top of the league, 11 points clear of Motherwell.

The commanding Dutch centre-back joined Celtic in the summer from Groningen and thanks to van Dijk's effort, the Scottish champions are unbeaten in 17 games.

It was a goal deserving of Andy Gray's 'take a bow, son' even if the talkSPORT presenter and former Rangers man had to scream it through gritted teeth.
