Exclusive – Howe: Momentum could take Burnley into the Premier League

Eddie Howe believes Burnley could have the advantage on the Championship promotion contenders if they can sneak into the play-offs.
The Clarets are currently in eighth place, two points behind Nottingham Forest who occupy the final play-off place. And with games against Leeds and Cardiff to come, it looks like an uphill task but, after mounting a late challenge, Howe insists his side won’t give up.
He told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “We’re still in there fighting. We’ve been playing catch up since I came here and getting closer and closer. But every time we seem to get level with that sixth spot we fall back again.
“Nottingham Forest are the danger side. But we need to beat Leeds on Saturday in the early kick-off and put pressure on the other sides.
“If we can get in there we’ll have the momentum with us. We’re looking forward to Leeds and Cardiff and if we can get the results we need we’ll be set up really nicely for the play-offs.”
