Allardyce warns Tottenham over Parker pursuit

Sam Allardyce has issued a stark warning to Harry Redknapp as his battle to keep Scott Parker at West Ham continues.

The Hammers' inspirational midfielder was the subject of speculation long before Allardyce's arrival, with Redknapp making his admiration for the England midfielder public.

The Spurs boss also has a habit of attempting transfer coups on the final day of the transfer window, most recently in his failed attempt to poach Charlie Adam from Blackpool in January, but Allardyce has sent a direct message to his rival in case he tries a similar move.

"It will be the wrong time to do it. If that's when Harry wants to come and do it then I will be telling the chairmen that it will be the most expensive not the cheapest," Allardyce said.

"If Harry or anyone at Tottenham is listening: watch out! Do not be waiting that long because you won't be able to do it.

"There are no bids for Scott at the moment so we continue to improve him for the season as a part of our team."
