Brighton poised to sign ex-Valencia star

Brighton are set to add former Spain midfielder Vicente Rodriguez to their ranks.

Gus Poyet's Championship side want to offer the out-of-contract star a deal at their new Amex Arena.

The 30-year-old was recently released by Valencia after 11 years at the club following an injury-plagued two seasons.

With Valencia, the winger won two La Liga titles and the 2008 Copa del Rey and made 38 appearances for Spain between 2001-05.

Brighton have won their first five games of the season and are top of the second tier after winning promotion from League One last season.
