Exclusive: Jones refuses to rule out Villa switch

Cardiff boss Dave Jones has turned down the opportunity to distance himself from the vacant Aston Villa job.

The Bluebirds manager has been linked with the post at Villa Park and, after his side's 2-0 win at Portsmouth, he refused to rule it out.

When asked about the speculation linking him with Villa, he told talkSPORT: "What do you want me to say? Does the speculation do your ego good? Yeah, of course it does. No manager’s going to say it doesn’t.

"Maybe it means we’re doing something right, but I'm focused on my job here.

"When you get carried away, football has tendency to kick you in the teeth."
