Birmingham attempting to offload Zigic

Birmingham are trying to offload giant striker Nikola Zigic, according to reports in Spain.

The Serbian cost Chris Hughton's side £6m when he arrived from Valencia in 2010 and he has since scored nine goals in 45 league appearances.

Spanish newspaper Sport claims Espanyol have been offered the 6ft 8in forward's services on a temporary basis, until the end of the season, with the hope of selling him in the summer.

Birmingham are keen to offload the 31-year-old as they hope make room in their side for Ajax striker Mounir El Hamdaoui, who they are hoping to lure to St Andrews.

Serbia international Zigic has also been offered to clubs in Italy and Germany, according to reports.
