It's the north London derby tonight and while both Tottenham and Arsenal fans will tell you that a win is the most important thing, there's no doubting that most football fans will be hoping to see more games like these…

GLORY GLORY TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR: FIVE TERRIFIC TOTTENHAM WINS

(Scroll past these if you're an Arsenal fan!)

TOTTENHAM 3-1 ARSENAL: 1991

Paul Gascoigne left David Seaman stranded as his 30-yard free-kick after five minutes flew past the Arsenal goalie. Gary Lineker scored twice and Alan Smith got one for the Gunners in the first FA Cup semi final to be played at Wembley. George Graham's side got revenge, though, when they put Spurs out of the Cup in 1993.

TOTTENHAM 5-0 ARSENAL: 1983

All good things come to those who wait and Spurs waited 10 games before they could humiliate their great rivals by the same scoreline they suffered against Arsenal in 1978. Five goals without reply, which included this neat finish by talkSPORT breakfast host, Alan Brazil of Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast fame.

ARSENAL 2-3 TOTTENHAM: 2010

The most recent meeting between the two saw Tottenham stage a superb fightback and win at Arsenal for the first time in 17 years. After Gareth Bale and Rafael Van Der Vaart brought the scores level, Younes Kaboul headed in the winner with five minutes left. Tottenham's win also denied Arsenal the chance to go top of the Premier League table.

TOTTENHAM 5-1 ARSENAL: 2008

The first leg of this League Cup semi final match had ended 1-1 and left Spurs still looking for their first north London derby win since 1999. Jermaine Jenas, Aaron Lennon, Robbie Keane, Steed Malbranque and a Nicklas Bendter own goal sent Spurs through to Wembley.

ARSENAL 1-2 TOTTENHAM: 1985

Garth Crooks and Mark Falco's goals helped Spurs win at Highbury on New Years day after Tony Woodcock put the Gunners ahead. Tottenham outplayed their hosts and went onto finis third in the First Division behind champions Everton and runners-up Liverpool, while Arsenal ended up in seventh.

GOOD OLD ARSENAL: FIVE AWESOME ARSENAL WINS

TOTTENHAM 0-5 ARSENAL: 1978

A stunning away win gave the travelling fans the perfect Christmas treat. In a team containing Pat Rice, the current assistant manager, Arsenal tore their north London neighbours – who had just been promoted – apart. Alan Sunderland grabbed a hat-trick, Frank Stapleton also got on the score sheet and Liam Brady's edge of the area screamer was pure brilliance.

TOTTENHAM 0-1 ARSENAL: 1971

Battling Leeds for the crown, the Gunners needed a win or a goalless draw to win their first title in 18 years. And, just like Arsene Wenger's side in 2004, Arsenal clinched the league at White Hart Lane, courtesy of a Ray Kennedy goal with two minutes remaining. Arsenal won the league and cup double that year, matching Spurs' achievement 10 years earlier.

TOTTENHAM 4-5 ARSENAL: 2004

The nine-goal thriller was pure entertainment. Thierry Henry, Lauren and Patrick Vieira put Arsenal 3-1 ahead after Noureddine Naybet put Spurs in the lead. Jermain Defoe struck back for Tottenham only for Freddie Ljungberg to double the lead. Ledley King then made it 4-3 and Robert Pires scored the Gunners' fifth. Freddie Kanoute's late goal then made it a tense final few minutes.

TOTTENHAM 2-3 ARSENAL: 1988

The first half was played at a very fast pace and all five goals came in quick succession in the first half at White Hart Lane. Nigel Winterburn, Brian Marwood and Alan Smith scoring for Arsenal and Chris Waddle and Paul Gascoigne – minus a boot having lost it during his run – for Spurs.

ARSENAL 3-0 TOTTENHAM 2002

Memorable solely for Thierry Henry's wonderful opening goal where he ran nearly the length of the pitch without any sort of tackle from a Spurs player. If his celebration in front of the travelling fans and Simon Davies' sending off before half-time didn't make the Tottenham faithful regret their decision to travel to Highbury, Freddie Ljungberg and Sylvain Wiltord made sure it was a miserable trip home.
