Liverpool seal swoop for Poulsen

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of midfielder Christian Poulsen from Juventus for £4.5million.

The 30-year-old Denmark international, capped 77 times by his country, will wear the No.28 shirt at Anfield after agreeing to link up with Roy Hodgson for a second time.

Poulsen, who previously played under the Reds boss while at Copenhagen a decade ago, has penned a three-year contract.

He becomes Liverpool’s fifth summer signing, joining Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Jonjo Shelvey and Danny Wilson in moving to Merseyside. 

Poulsen's arrival is expected to speed up the departure of Javier Mascherano, who is keen on a move to Barcelona.
