Exclusive: Pleat – ‘Tottenham will see off Young Boys’

David Pleat has told talkSPORT he expects Tottenham to beat Young Boys to secure Champions League qualification.
Spurs were rocked in the first leg of their qualification play-off as the Swiss raced into a 3-0 lead on their plastic pitch at the Stade de Suisse, but Harry Redknapp’s side recovered with goals from Sebastian Bassong and Roman Pavlyuchenko.
And Pleat expects his former club to complete their comeback in the second leg in north London.
He told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “Artificial pitches can sometimes give players a mental block and, although Harry [Redknapp] said he wouldn’t use it as an excuse, there was an uncertainty about the Spurs players.
“But once they got to grips with the pitch they completely dominated, and I think Spurs will dominate the game at White Hart Lane.
“The Swiss side have got some pace and quality, but they are no quicker or better than any Premier League side who will go to Tottenham this season.”
