Gerrard hoping Liverpool add more signings

Steven Gerrard is hoping Liverpool can still strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes at the end of August.

Anfield manager Roy Hodgson has already brought in Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Danny Wilson, Fabio Aurelio and Christian Poulsen so far but Gerrard is hopeful more arrivals could be on the cards.

The Liverpool captain said: "A few signings have been made to improve the team and I've been delighted.

 "Hopefully there are also a few more signings to come in before the transfer window closes at the end of the month."

Fulham's Paul Konchesky, West Ham's Scott Parker and Carlton Cole and Barcelona's Alexander Hleb have all been linked with Liverpool in recent weeks.
