Van Persie out for two weeks with ankle injury

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is set to be sidelined for a fortnight after suffering an ankle injury.

The 27-year-old picked up the injury during the 2-1 Premier League victory over Blackburn at Ewood Park on Saturday.

The Dutch Football Association has now revealed that van Persie is likely to be out of action for "at least a few weeks", ruling him out of the Netherlands' European Championship qualifiers against San Marino and Finland.

Van Persie, who missed five months of last season after damaging ankle ligaments, has been replaced in the Holland squad by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Meanswhile, Werden Bremen have announced the signing of former Arsenal defender Mikael Silevstre, a move that was first revealed by talkSPORT.
