Everton ace Neville reveals managerial ambition
Phil Neville has revealed that he wants to move into management, and has already started doing his coaching badges.
The Everton captain is 33 and said: "I'm getting to the age now where I have to start looking at the next chapter of my life.
"As players, we love playing football and we love the game, and this is the next obvious step. You've been doing one job for so many years, and you've got another 35 years to do another, and for me that means going into coaching and management."
But he does not expect it to be easy, despite playing almost 600 games for Manchester United and Everton, and winning 59 caps for England.
Neville added: "Just because you've had a great career doesn't mean you will be a great manager. The advice I have been given is to start at the very bottom and learn everything you can, and see where that takes you.
"I've been fortunate to work with some unbelievable managers and gained some great football experience myself. The challenge is to get across everything you've learned to your team. Hopefully that is the challenge for the next 30 years."
