Senderos to discover injury fate by Friday

Philippe Senderos will find out by Friday if his season is in ruins after he suffered a suspected ruptured Achilles tendon in training with Fulham.

The Swiss centre-back only moved to Craven Cottage from Arsenal this summer after spending seven years in north London.

But he was injured in one of his first training sessions with his new club and has been sent to a specialist to discover whether he faces an extended period on the sidelines.

If the injury is confirmed the news would be a huge blow to new boss Mark Hughes, and would mean the end of Tottenham’s reported interest in Brede Hangeland.

Harry Redknapp is reportedly interested in signing £12m-rated Hangeland, but as Hughes would be left with just the Norwegian, Aaron Hughes and Chris Baird at centre-back.

A Fulham spokesman told TalkSPORT: “The club is waiting for the outcome of the specialist’s report.
